VP Projects SEA

Job Description

The VP of Projects (SEA) is a high-level executive role responsible for the strategic oversight and delivery of the entire capital project portfolio across Southeast Asia. Based in a regional hub like Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, you own the execution roadmap for multi-billion dollar developments in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. You are the bridge between global corporate strategy and regional execution, ensuring that “speed-to-market” is achieved without compromising on safety, quality, or financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Regional Portfolio: Lead the end-to-end delivery of all hyperscale and colocation projects across Southeast Asia. Consequently, you must ensure all builds align with the company’s long-term commercial objectives.
  • Drive Market Entry: Partner with the Real Estate and Business Development teams to evaluate new sites. In doing so, you provide technical due diligence and CAPEX estimates for emerging markets.
  • Execute CAPEX Control: Manage the regional capital budget, which totals hundreds of millions of dollars. Therefore, you must enforce rigorous cost-control measures and approve major contract awards.
  • Optimize Project Delivery: Standardize construction methodologies across different countries. As a result, you will increase efficiency and ensure a consistent “Global Gold Standard” for every facility.
  • Manage Executive Relations: Provide regular project health updates to the Global Board. Additionally, you must manage high-level relationships with regional government bodies and utility providers.
  • Enforce Safety & Quality: Drive a “Zero Harm” safety culture across all regional sites. Specifically, you must ensure that all contractors adhere to both local regulations and international best practices.
  • Lead Regional Teams: Mentor and grow the country-level project management teams. Ultimately, you are responsible for building a scalable, high-performing regional project organization.

Key Requirements and Skills

  • 15–20+ years of progressive leadership in project management, with a heavy focus on Data Centers, Industrial Infrastructure, or Large-Scale Energy projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects across at least three different SEA markets.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture; an MBA or advanced Management degree is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional ability to lead culturally diverse teams and navigate complex, high-stakes negotiations.
  • Expert knowledge of CAPEX management, project financing, and regional tax/legal frameworks.
