Senior M&E Manager
Job Description
The M&E Manager is responsible for the technical delivery and operational integrity of Mechanical and Electrical systems for hyperscale data center projects in Singapore. You will oversee the installation, integration, and testing of critical infrastructure, ensuring that power and cooling architectures meet Singapore’s stringent “Green Mark” sustainability standards and Uptime Institute reliability requirements. You serve as the onsite technical lead, managing specialized subcontractors to ensure a seamless transition from construction to a live, mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Oversight: Supervise the installation of HV/LV electrical systems, UPS clusters, backup generators, and chilled water cooling plants.
- Singapore Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all M&E works comply with local codes, including SS 638 (Electrical), SS 553 (Air-conditioning/Ventilation), and SCDF fire safety requirements.
- Utility Coordination: Liaise with SP Group for power substation turn-on and water authorities for cooling system connectivity.
- BIM & Clash Coordination: Utilize BIM (Revit/Navisworks) to manage spatial coordination and resolve service clashes in the high-density MEP overhead and underfloor spaces.
- Commissioning Support: Direct Levels 1–4 testing and support the Senior M&E Manager during Level 5 Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
- Sustainability Management: Monitor the installation of energy-efficient systems to ensure the facility meets the BCA-IMDA Green Mark for Data Centres platinum/gold plus targets.
Key Requirements and Skills
- 6+ years in M&E engineering, with at least 3 years specifically within the Singapore Data Center sector.
- Strong understanding of N+1 and 2N redundancy, PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) optimization, and Singapore building by-laws.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM viewers, and project tracking tools like Procore or Aconex.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- SCEM (Singapore Certified Energy Manager) or GMM (Green Mark Manager) is an advantage.
