Project Fit-out Manager

Job Description

To manage the interior fit-out phase of data center facilities, ensuring white space, technical rooms, and support areas are delivered to specification and ready for equipment installation. In this role, you will oversee fit-out contractors and trades on site, coordinate closely with the Project Manager and design teams, and ensure fit-out works integrate seamlessly with base building and MEP installation. You’ll be the day-to-day owner of fit-out quality, sequencing, and schedule on site.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage all fit-out activities, including partitioning, raised flooring, containment, finishes, and technical room build-outs
  • Coordinate fit-out sequencing with MEP, security, and IT infrastructure installation teams to avoid clashes and delays
  • Supervise fit-out contractors and subcontractors on site, ensuring work meets design specifications and quality standards
  • Review fit-out drawings and specifications, flagging design or constructability issues early
  • Manage fit-out schedules and budgets, tracking progress against milestones and reporting variances
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality walkthroughs, maintaining snag/defect lists through to closure
  • Ensure fit-out works comply with local building codes, fire safety, and health & safety regulations
  • Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules with suppliers and the wider project team
  • Support readiness for commissioning by ensuring fit-out spaces are complete and handed over on schedule

Qualification and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil/Building Engineering, Interior Design, or a related field
  • Proven experience managing fit-out works for data centers, cleanrooms, or other mission-critical facilities in Japan
  • Strong knowledge of fit-out materials, construction sequencing, and finishing standards for technical environments
  • Experience coordinating with MEP and IT infrastructure teams during concurrent installation phases
  • Hands-on site management experience, including contractor supervision and quality control
  • Familiarity with Japanese building codes and construction site practices
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple trades simultaneously
  • Business-level Japanese and English proficiency preferred
