Senior Project Manager
Job Description
Lead the construction and delivery of hyperscale data centers in the Kuala Lumpur region. Represent the Developer/Operator and manage the entire project lifecycle from site acquisition to operational handover. Ensure the facility meets high-density AI requirements while staying on schedule and within budget. Bridge the gap between global design standards and local Malaysian construction practices to drive successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all phases of the data center build, from initial ground-breaking to the final building envelope.
- Create and manage detailed project plans, master schedules, and multi-million dollar capital budgets.
- Lead submissions and approvals with Malaysian bodies like MIDA, MDEC, and local municipal councils.
- Manage high-level talks with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) to ensure the site receives massive power capacity on time.
- Direct the Main Contractor and MEP subcontractors to ensure they meet rigorous international quality standards.
- Identify potential construction delays or cost overruns early and implement effective recovery plans.
- Enforce strict health and safety protocols on-site that exceed OSHA Malaysia requirements.
- Deliver clear, data-driven progress reports to regional leadership and global investment teams.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive background in leading large-scale construction projects or mission-critical facilities.
- Expert knowledge of data center infrastructure, including civil, structural, and MEP integration.
- Strong understanding of the Uniform Building By-Laws (UBBL) and Malaysian construction permit processes.
- Mastery of project management tools like Primavera P6, MS Project, and BIM (Revit/Navisworks).
- Exceptional ability to manage diverse teams and influence high-level stakeholders.
- Strong experience in contract management, cost control, and managing project variations.
- Ability to work in Kuala Lumpur (Cyberjaya/Greater KL) or relocate as required for the role.
